House Rules

Intro

Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to read this. The info on this page is a quick summary of my T&C doc.

To work with me or use my site, you must agree to my T&C. It’s that simple.

The goal of the T&C is to protect me from that 0.01% that are absolutely crazy and drive the people around them insane. The rest of you will have a smooth time, working with me.

However for the sake of transparency, I want you to be able to understand my policies quickly and conveniently.

This doesn’t add to or substitute any of the info on the T&C. You should definitely read it.

You can access the T&C here or at the bottom of any page on this site. When you read it, there are some specific, but simple definitions close to the beginning (eg. “Business Day” or “Team Members”) which has the purpose of making sure the long document isn’t longer!

This is not a complete summary, but it covers the main sections I think you should know at a glance, the general rules, client/project rules, payment, and pausing/ending a project.

General Rules

Operating Hours

My services are available from 10 AM to 6 PM on Monday through Friday, but if you need work done outside of these hours, please let my know in advance and be aware that there will be an convenience fee.

Archive

I archive the files created from my services, and while I’ll keep them for a year and can make them available to you upon request.

I can’t guarantee that I’ll retain them beyond that time.

Material Ownership

I kindly ask that all payments for a project be made in full before I can release any materials. Once the final payment is made, ownership is given to you.

Please note that any unused or rejected intellectual property I create will remain mine.

Right To Share

I want to let you know that I may share the work I create for you on our site, social media, or other platforms, and submit it for awards to showcase my services and your project.

However, if you have specific confidentiality requirements, we can discuss them before we begin.

If you don’t tell me about confidentiality concerns beforehand, I can’t promise to keep our work together private.

Client/Project Rules

Communication

I’m here to help make your project a success! My main form of communication will be via email, and you can expect a response within my operating hours.

Please keep in mind that any delays in the timeline of the project due to delayed feedback from you will affect the project schedule, and we’ll work together to find the best solution to keep things on track.

Scope

The work in a project is limited to what we settled on in the agreement.

If you need additional services or more time during a session, I can provide them at my discretion.

In that case, a convenience fee will be added to your invoice.

Rescheduling & Cancelation

It’s important to keep in mind that we should always communicate effectively with each other.

So if you or I need to cancel or reschedule a session, we should give each other 72 hours of notice.

Otherwise, if one of us breaks that rule, then you or I will be responsible for any expenses incurred.

There’s obvious exceptions like illness or family crises.

Conduct

I take responsibility for our conduct during the project, and I expect the same from you and your team members and guests.

If you or me act inappropriately, the other has the right to pause/end the project, or reschedule or cancel any session/meeting.

Inappropriate conduct includes interfering with the other’s work, being excessively absent or tardy, lying, using drugs that impair one’s ability to work, being violent or abusive, damaging property, or doing anything illegal (I don’t want the smoke from Uncle Sam and neither do you).

I hope we can all work together professionally and respectfully to create great music!

Property Damage

I want to let you know that if any damage happens to our or third-party property during the project caused by either you or us, the party responsible for the damage will be held liable, so let’s handle everything with care.

Also, please avoid touching any equipment unless I give you specific instructions to do so.

Payment Rules

Billing

I’m excited to work with you on your project! To ensure a smooth payment process, I accept payments through Stripe, and I may consider other payment methods upon request.

Please make sure to provide accurate billing information and ensure that your payment method is valid.

I require a deposit for your project to get started, and I won’t begin work until I receive it. If you pay the deposit after the project start date, I may need to reschedule the timeline.

I understand that sometimes things can go wrong with payment, and I kindly ask that you provide me with timely payment so we can avoid any delays.

If automatic billing fails for any reason, I’ll send an electronic invoice, and I’ll ask that you make the payment manually before the deadline indicated on the invoice.

Refunds

I just want to give you a heads up that the initial deposit for your project isn’t refundable no matter what.

Unfortunately, if you pause or end your project, I can’t issue any refunds either.

But, I’m here to help you in any way I can, so if you have any concerns or refund requests, just let me know!

I’ll review them on a case-by-case basis and try to issue a partial refund if possible based on the work completed and your overall budget.

Delinquent Payments

I’m here to help you through the payment process, and I understand that unexpected situations can come up.

If for any reason you can’t make a payment, please let me know right away so we can work out a solution together.

We can allow up to five business days as a grace period for late payments or to determine a new payment date, and I’ll do my best to accommodate your needs.

However, if we can’t come to an agreement on a new payment date, I may need to pause or end the project.

Convenience Fees

I’ll always let you know if a convenience fee applies to a service and how much it costs, so you can decide if you want to go ahead with it.

If you choose to accept the fee, just confirm in writing (by email or print) and I’ll either charge you before delivering or add it to your invoice for later payment.

Rules On Pausing & Ending A Project

Suspension & Termination

Suspension is basically pausing a project while termination is ending it prematurely.

I understand that sometimes plans change, and you have the right to terminate a project at any time.

Please note that any payments made are non-refundable in the event that you do terminate the project.

I may need to suspend a project for reasons such as your request, a violation of mu terms, or a failure to provide compensation.

If a project is suspended and we don’t agree on a date to resume within sixty business days of suspension, I may need to terminate it, but I’ll always try to work with you to find a solution before resorting to suspension or termination.

Failure On My End Of The Bargain

In the unfortunate event that I am unable to complete a project due to circumstances beyond my reasonable control, such as illness or family crisis, then I will do my best to work with you to determine an appropriate refund.

The refund amount will depend on the stage of the project, any remaining services to be performed, and what payments have been made.

If you want to continue the project somehow, then I am happy to work with you. However, I understand that this is an unforeseen circumstance and will do everything in my power to make it right.

No-Communication

I’m here to help you keep your project moving forward. To do that, we need to stay in touch!

If I don’t hear from you for 20 business days, I might need to suspend the project until we can agree on a new date to continue.

And if there are communication issues or delays on your end, I’ll try to work with you to fix things.

Though if we can’t get things moving, I might need to suspend the project temporarily.

In short, please don’t ghost me bro.
